Yogurt

One of Cades favorite snacks is yogurt. I think that he likes it so much because it is easy to keep on the spoon, unlike those darn peas! I let him eat up the other day while I was on the phone. I turned around for about 2 minutes and when I looked back this is what I was greeted with. He was so proud of himself! It was too funny!

Playoffs

Well the NBA playoffs have started and the Utah Jazz, sadly enough, have gotten off to a difficult start. Jared loves the Jazz and so consequently so does Cade. They were watching the first game and Cade kept saying, "go, go, go!" and "ohhhhh, a ball!" He is a goof. He loves to watch basketball with his daddy! Good luck tonight boys!

Newest Adventure

So I was reading an article in a magazine about families that ride bikes together and I thought that it was a great idea!! We have been trying to find something that we can do as a family that will get us outside, active, and enjoying one anothers company. I don't know why we didn't think of it sooner because Las Vegas is an awesome place to ride because of all the trails and pathways. Well, once I got my mind set on the idea I wanted to go and look at bikes. We went to REI just to start our search and Cade immediately gravitated to this bike. He couldn't quite reach the peddles but he loved to sit on it and thought he was pretty dang cool. Well, needless to say we have not purchased any bikes yet and probably wont until I have researched bikes to death and found the best deal. So, since I know nothing about bikes if anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or thoughts feel free to pass them along.

"Its Not a Fair its a Carnival"

First of all a little background on the title. When we were little and we thought that something that my Dad asked us to do wasn't fair our typical response would be, "Dad, that's not fair!!" to which he would respond, "You're right, its not a fair its a carnival." Haha, I can laugh now at my dads corny jokes but I can say I wasn't laughing then. However, since we went to a carnival on Saturday I couldn't resist sharing. I was so excited to take Cade to the carnival and thought that for sure he would love it...I was wrong. He didn't hate it but he was a little overwhelmed at first and became a clingy little boy. However, once we broke out the ball toss and he got a blow-up guitar for throwing the ball (which he promptly used as a bat) he warmed up to the idea.

This picture is one that makes me laugh (below). The goal of the game was to throw the ping pong ball into the dishes but the mind of a little one year old just couldn't quite grasp that one. Haha, as soon as he got his hands on the ball the threw it as hard as he could right over the table and across the lawn. I laughed and laughed when Jared gave him several more turns, each time trying to explain what to do, however getting the same response, the ball across the park. It was really fun to get out and spend some fun time together as a family.

New Shoes

So I finally got Cade his first pair of summer flip flops the other day. I have looked and looked at them online but have never broken down and made the actual purchase until now. I was so excited to put them on him and he was so excited to have a new pair of shoes...that was until they were on his feet. It was so funny because he didn't know what to do and was convinced that he could not move with them on. He just stood in the same spot for at least 10 minutes and looked at me like "what do I do, mom?"

He would bend down and touch his toes and reach out and grab things that were around him but his feet stood planted in the same spot. I kept laughing and telling him that it was okay and that he could walk but he just looked at me in disbelief. He finally started to take little baby steps and when he realized that they would stay on his feet he was off. They are now his very most favorite thing. It is really cute because the first thing he does when he wakes up is finds his shoes and brings them to me to slip on his feet. Oh the beauty of a new pair of shoes!

New York Baby!

The Williams Women's Weekend has come and gone. The inspiration for this fabulous weekend was good ole BYU-I! It all started about 5 years ago when my mom and grandma came to Rexburg for my Mothers week. It was so much fun that it quickly became an awaited for event every year. Last year was our first experience with my little sis Alli, which was such a joy because I went back to my old stomping grounds and found that my sister had as much love for them as I did. As ironic as it may sound she actually ended up in the same room and same bed that I had occupied 3 years earlier, what a co-wink-a-dink! Anyway, since Alli got married this past summer we decided to change up "Mothers Week" and head off to a destination. Our first pick...New York City baby!! I left on Wednesday night at about 11:00pm and flew all night to JFK where I soon welcomed my sister, mom, and grandma. We bundled up and headed out into the rain storm.

We saw many places, the Brooklyn Bridge being one of my favorites (top picture). Another favorite was NBC studios. With my recent love for the Today Show it was like a reunion with a long lost friend to be able to see the place in person that I see every morning. It was also fun to go into the studios and see paraphernalia from all the NBC shows. It almost brought a tear to my eye to see the Panther Football shirt and hat...my newest most favorite show is Friday Night Lights...I actually watched the season finale right before I left for the airport...I love that show!!

As I mentioned earlier it was VERY stormy our first day there. My sis and I were soaked!! When ever we got the chance to take off our shoes we did. I actually ended up taking off my socks and just wearing shoes so I would only squish through one layer of water instead of two. We had so much fun laughing and talking, laughing and talking, laughing and talking with a few diet cokes and subway rides thrown in there. I have the best family and feel so honored to call them mine!! Love you guys and thanks for the memories!!

Bracelets?

Funny story... I walked into the bathroom where Jared was giving Cade-o a tubby. Cade was laughing and giggling and when I saw the rings on his wrists my response was, "nice bracelets." To which Jared responded, "They aren't bracelets, they are African warrior war band things..." and Cade immediately put his arms up in the air and said, "Yeah!" It was too cute we both laughed and laughed. He is such a witty little one.

Summer Legs

Summer time is here and Cade is definitely a toddler that is now wearing shorts on a regular basis. Take a look at his legs...he is a boy...need I say more? I love how tough he is and that he is all boy...the bumps, bruises, scratches and scrapes say it all.

The Hunt is On

Cade participated in his first egg hunt this year and had so much fun with the one egg that he found. We were so lucky to be in Utah with his cousins for the hunt but that also meant not many eggs for the little inexperienced one. It was too funny, Cade was so confused why all the kids were running to the field where all the eggs were and once he figured it out he then was so caught up in the one egg that he found that he just didn't care that there were more out there. The rest of the kids were so sweet because they all gave eggs to "baby Cade because he is small." He had plenty of candy and so did mom!

Once the visit was over it was time to pile back in the car and make the trek home. Cade was the first to jump in and figured since he was so quick he could drive for us. I kept telling him that we were going home to see daddy (Jared had to say home because he was on call.) The whole way home Cade would say "see daddy." It was really sweet.

Once we made it home we were greeted with an Easter BBQ prepared by our chef Jared and a cute little basket for our little Cade. As you can see by his shirt Cade was not lacking in the candy department this Easter. We have the best daddy and we were SO excited to see him!! We love you Dad!

The Suit Debut

Here is the debut. The suit was a hit for Easter! I was so worried that it would not fit but we just added a belt and it worked like a charm. We actually got to spend Easter in Utah with Jared's family. There was a baptism and a blessing that weekend so we made a quick trip up and back. I know that it is fun to dress little girls, and I am so looking forward to it, but it is way fun to dress little boys too!
This is Cades typical move. When he sees any of his daddy, uncles, or any boy cousin he thinks that they want to play guns with him. So, he pulls out his fingers and makes shooting noises. I know, he is only one but it is really cute and I figure that he is atleast not hitting them.

Finally Fits!

Hey, how you doin'?

This is Cade showing off his muscles.

I thought that he looked too cute the other day when he was in his little basketball uniform. We were actually given this outfit before he was even born. I remember thinking that he would NEVER fit into it, that was until the other day. I was so excited and Jared thought that it made his shaved head even cooler.

Another Silly Hobby

Let me introduce you to my newest hobby...planting!! NEWEST being the critical word. I have always wanted to not only plant beautiful flowers but to keep them alive as well. I figured that the second part of my desire, keeping them alive, was not possible here in the desert, unless I wanted to plant cactus's. However, that was until Thursday night. On Thursday we had our enrichment night, which was a garden party, and they taught us all about potting flowers. I was so excited that on Friday Cade and I headed to the local nursery. It was so much fun to pick out beautiful flowers and pots. Cade loved it too because they had little garden waterfalls that he loved looking at.

Once we made it home I changed my clothes, rolled up my sleeves and got to planting. Cade loved that he got to play in a big bag of dirt and as you can see from the pictures he soon learned that it doesn't taste good but it makes a good mustache. He was such a good helper and I had so much fun giving life to beautiful flowers, I hope. My planting is now done and far from professional but everyone has to start somewhere...right? Cade loves to smell the flowers and sticks his whole face into the plant and says, "mmmmmm" every time we walk outside. It is exciting to learn something new and so wonderful to have a husband who encourages and supports my silly whims. I love flowers and hope to continue to expand me learning to my balcony.
