Lets Hear it for the Boy...

All too often I get so caught up blogging about the baby or about Cade, because that is who I am with All day, that I neglect to give credit where credit is so overly due! My sweet husband has been working his little hiney off, literally. A few months back he decided that he was going to get back into shape, no matter the price of blood, sweat and tears. And bleed, sweat, and cry (maybe only a few tears) he definitely did. Shortly after his resolution our gym started a 10 week competition where the winner would get a plasma TV. Jared decided that if he was going to work hard he mine as well get something for it besides a healthy body and a nice physique. For the past 10 weeks he has been running, lifting, sweating, not eating junk (total bummer for me!!) and basically slimming down. On the day of his final weigh in the results where a loss of 45 pounds, 9% of body fat, 6 inches off his waist, and a few others I cannot remember at the moment. The results as far as the competition is concerned are not yet in but in my book, and secretly his, he is already a winner. I am so so so proud of him for being so diligent, dedicated, and willing to give up all the unhealthy things even when there were birthdays, celebrations, and parties he really stuck to his guns. (Side note: The picture above doesn't do him justice it was taken about a month ago)

He also celebrated his 29th birthday on the 20th of May. We had a great day, had some great Indian food and he was very excited to find out that he would be starting Brazilian Jujitsu as a birthday present, something he has always wanted to do.
Although it is late I wanted to post 29 reasons why I love this man so much..

20. He keeps my life spontaneous and exciting

We also celebrated our 4 year anniversary on the 27th. I cannot believe it has been 4 years and then again it feels like we have been married for forever.

He took me to dinner at the White Chocolate Grill and then surprised me with this....

A new wedding ring! I love it and am so so so excited about it. He is such a sweetheart and is so thoughtful.

I love the man that he is and the person that he makes me want to be. I love you my sweet and cannot wait for forever with you!

Introducing...

Our Little Baby "B." We haven't decided officially on a name for this little guy. It will either be Blake or Beckam so for now he is "B" or Little, which ever you prefer.

It was so much fun to see his little chubby cheeks and get an idea of what our little package will look like in 6 weeks. The tech said that he is in his 5th pound so he should be a pretty chubby little guy.

I love his little toes and fingers. I cannot wait to see them in real life, cover them in lotion and give them hugs and kisses.

For some reason he thought that his arm would taste good and kept licking it over and over. This little guy is going to be quite the explorer.

Look at those chubby cheeks...and he still has time to make them bigger. How fun will they be to smother in kisses!

Big yawns for our little guy. He was bouncing all over the place during the ultrasound and by the end was all tuckered out. Lets hope that he sleeps this well when he actually makes it out.

We can't wait to meet you little guy!

Now that you have "peeked" at him what does he look like? A Blake or a Beckam? What is your vote?

The Last Time I Checked...

The comments, "Oh my gosh...you are SO pregnant!" and "It is not the weight gain I am worried about as much as if you can get if off after the baby. I am sure that you are going to have a difficult time getting the weight off of your thighs and hips." are not fun comments for a pregnant lady to hear. Both of which I have heard. The first is the standard greeting from people that I see at church, the store, or just around the neighborhood and the second coming from my dear sweet doctor...wouldn't you think HIM of all people would know not to say that to an emotional, already feeling huge pregnant lady. Hmmm...?? So here you are, the latest picture of the belly. Only 7 more weeks to go and so excited to meet this little guy and also have a shirt that covers the belly without being pulled down repetitively. Cade took the picture below...he did a pretty good job for his first shot.

Here is the "belly bump" with Cade. The beginning of the brother brawl that I am sure will be a constant in my home.

The Carousel

This weekend they opened a new carousel at the District so we headed down to check it out. They had some treats and jugglers to distract the little ones from the long line that they had to wait in. So, naturally, the pop corn was a definite hit in Cades book. He chowed down and before we knew it we were ready to pick our horse and ride on.

Cade is such a cheese ball but he was so proud of his horse!

"look mom, NO hands!" I think that secretly Jared was just as proud of his horse and excited as Cade was.

Just my sweet little guy as happy and content as can be.

The bubbles were also a total hit for Cade. He could have blown bubbles for hours but couldn't quite understand why the bottle disappeared so quickly. I tried and tried to explain to him that he couldn't tip the bottle to get the bubbles out or they would pour all over the ground...but the mystery was never quite solved in his cute little mind.

Then tragedy struck... the balloon flew away! Cade was not interested in his balloon at all and I was the one that had to carry it around for the day. However, when his friend Luke showed up and was loving his balloon so naturally Cade all of a sudden realized that he too had a balloon. The boys were running around with their balloons when Cades came untied from his wrist and "flew up to the birds" as he put it. It was a sad moment and other balloons just couldn't quite fill the void of the original. The difficulties of a 2-year-old.

Cade and Luke took another ride on the carousel and thought they were pretty cool kids.

They ended the day with some rocks and were fulfilled. We had a great time and are loving the nice weather and the time that we get to go out together.

Drum Roll Please...

So in its debut here is the aforementioned bunk bed. I should have taken a before picture but was so ready to get started that I didn't think about it and the bed was never really assembled until after it was painted. Here is a really really small picture of what it looked like before. For some reason the website will only give me a tiny one.

And here is the bed after more work that you would EVER think went into it. I know it isn't as cute as the picture that I posted a few entries ago but although it was lots of work it was WAY cheaper and will do for a few years until I find something I really love. I still have more work to do to get it to where I want it to be but for now I am taking a little break. You cant tell in the picture but some of the corners are sanded to make it look a little more worn and to hide some "love" that I am sure will be added with 2 boys.

This is Cades favorite part...the ladder. He goes up and down about a billion times a day. He loves to take his toys up top and play. Here he is playing hungry hungry hippo.

I still need to get the down comforters, make the duvets and get some baskets to go under the bed to fill with toys. I think that I am going to get black baskets with lime green liners just to add a little more color to the room. I am still on a search for the right material/sheets to make the duvets out of so if anyone comes across something cute let me know.

Jared couldn't resist taking a picture of him sleeping in his new "big boy bunk bed." I think we were both amazed at how little yet grown up he looked in his bed. Our next project...keeping him IN the bed and not gracing us with his presence in the middle of the night. Oh the joys of being a parent. If anyone has any fabulous ideas on how to accomplish that one I am all ears!

Our Recent Adventures

Life is starting into that "summer craziness" and I dont even have little ones in school yet. We have been up to Utah again for another blessing and baptism. It is so much fun to have so many nieces and nephews that are making such awesome choices. While we were there we also got to see my family along with my adorable sister and her hubby. It was a fun filled jam packed weekend that was so worth the 7 hour drive. Once we got home I jumped right into my supposedly easy project. I found a bed for Cade but decided that I wanted it to be a different color...easy...right... I figure that I spent over 24 hours in total getting the bed primed, painted, set up and made but I think that in the end it was worth it. The difficult part was working around my small house, during sleep times, not getting paint everywhere and finding extra room to let the pieces dry in peace. I finally got it all finished and set up on Saturday night so Cade finally got his room back and I got to put away my paint brush, hopefully, for the last time with this project. One late night it occurred to me that painting is like having a baby. In the beginning you think that it is a great idea and you are actually kind of excited about it. However, half way through you start to think, "what in the world was I thinking!?!" Once you reach the end and the project is done/baby is born you sit back and say, "you know, I did a good job, I am proud of myself but I wont be doing that again for quite a while." However, after enough time passes and you have forgotten all the blood, sweat, and tears that you experienced you start to think about doing all over again and once again think that it is a good idea. You gotta love the way that life works. I don't have any pictures of the bed yet, as that I finished right in enough time for Cade to climb his ladder a few times and then crawl into his freshly made bed but I will post some pictures soon.
Here are a few left overs from Easter that I just pulled off my camera. It was fun for the boys to be all decked out together and for Amelia to join them, although she is not in her easter dress in this picture.

It is so much fun for Cade to have his cousins close by and that he loves to play with them so much.

We also got to go on the tour of Anderson Dairy the other day. Cade was so excited to see the cows! He talked and talked about it all night and day long. Needless to say he was a little disappointed to find out that we did not get to see any real cows. However, he got over it when he found out that he got his very own ice cream at the end of the tour.

We also went to the park this weekend when my sister-in-law Allyse and her kids came to visit for a few days. We had so much fun with them and are so thankful that we got to spend a little extra time with them. This just happens to be my favorite picture from that outing...so innocent and the pure definition of enjoying the moment.

Dilemma of the Moment

So I have somewhat of a dilemma on my hands. I have decided that now is the time to break down and buy a bunk bed for my soon to be 2 boys. I was going to just buy Cade a twin bed but then decided that since I know that I am going to have 2 boys that will one day share a room that I mine as well just spring for the bunk bed now and not buy a bed twice. So, long explanation for a simple issue, I am faced with finding a bunk bed that I like. Well, the dilemma is that I have searched and searched and searched and haven't found too many that I like that are not ridiculously expensive. I want a nice one that will last and that is wood but don't want to pay premium dollar for it. So, my question is... do you have any thoughts on where to look? I hear about people getting good deals on furniture all the time but where do I start? Have you seen any that are cute? Anyway, ready, set go....shoot out all those clever ideas that I know you have...I would love to hear all of them because I need to get my little guy in a big bed ASAP!
