Cade's Turn

As I mentioned earlier here are the pictures of Cade in the leaves. He wasn't too sure about them when all of the kids had jumped in but the next day when he was all by himself he couldn't get enough of them, the silly kid.

My grandma brought out some pumpkins and a scarecrow. Cade loved the pumpkins but he wouldn't get too close to the scarecrow. It was rather funny.

A Fall Day in Utah

Wow, it has been a while since I have had the time to sit down and update my life. We had the opportunity to go to Utah this weekend for a quick visit with the family. I was so excited to see all the fall leaves and to share this season with Cade. Cade and I were able to relax and enjoy the cooler weather while Jared had to endure the elements, snow. He went to Provo for the BYU game and was rained, snowed, and hailed on but the cougars triumphed so it was all worth it. I was actually supposed to go to the game, and really wanted to, but ended up getting sick AGAIN!! I am honestly so done with being sick with this cold/flu junk it really isn't even funny anymore. But I was pampered by my grandma so it was slightly okay. We had a big family dinner on Sunday and the weather was crisp, beautiful, and perfect for some fall pictures. I am going to start with the pictures of the kids (my cousins but think of them as my nieces and nephews) and will share Cades tomorrow. It was so much fun to frolic in the leaves and be kids again....enjoy.

Seth, Alex, and Eli

I asked for a silly face and all 3 of them came up with one without a second thought. I laughed and laughed at how natural it was for each of them.

Seth, the baby of the family and the one that has stolen my heart. He is a tender little soul that is tough to the core. He is such a darling kid and cant help but make you smile.

Eli, the imaginative one. He lives in such a fun and entertaining world that he calls his own. He honestly loves life and lives it to the fullest.

Alex, the big brother. He is such a good boy and so much fun to have around. Cade loved every move that he made and could not get enough of him.

Olivia and Emma

Emma, the social butterfly. She is such a doll and so interested in you and all that you are doing. She is such a sincere and tender soul.

Olivia, the sweet and sassy one. She is such a doll, such a good helper, so darling, with a side of spunk.

The First of Many, I am Sure...

We had a minor "ouchie" incident in our home a few days ago that required ice cream and gummies as a bribe and a dentists okay. Jared was pushing Cade on his beloved rocket, seen below, and matters got a little out of hand. Jared would give Cade a push and he would go flying across the floor, an activity that has been done many, many, many times! Well, it was the last push before we headed out the door on our "Saturday family fun" activity. Spirits were high and tantrums at a minimum, that was until Cade lost control and face planted right into the hardwood floor, chipping the floor and the tooth.
It was so sad to hear the blood curling scream and then see the blood drain from Jared's face as he realized that Cade had gotten hurt. There were quick cuddles, drinks of milk offered, and blankets pulled out of his bed, (all things that usually quiet and comfort the ouchies) but to no avail. After a call to the dentist we decided to head out to ice cream to see if we could take his mind off the pain and sure enough as soon as he saw the ice cream and endless toppings the tooth was no longer of importance.
Jared still has to fight back the tears when he sees Cades chipped tooth smile but I cant help but smile and know that it is only the beginning of many bumps, bruises and emergency trips to the doctor that will happen in the next many years of motherhood.

Better Late than Never...

Welcome to my very overdue post of what happened last weekend. I have been feeling very much under the weather and so have spent much of my time doing anything I could that would entertain Cade but didn't require me to move, thus the delay in posting. We had such a great Conference weekend and had so much fun together as a family. On Saturday, between sessions, we drove to an orchard that is about 30 minutes from here and let Cade, really Jared, go to town picking pumpkins and watermelons.
Most of the big pumpkins were gone so we had to settle for either small little ones or big green ones, so we got a mixture of both. We had a great time searching through all of the rows of pumpkin plants to find just the right "punkin," as Cade would say.

They also had tons of apples, pears, zucchini, eggplant, peaches, ect. Since it was so late in the season they only had a few apples left so we combed the trees to find a few. Cade was so proud of himself for finding one, on the ground, and immediately enjoyed the fruits of his labors.

We returned home with a bag full of apples, 2 watermelons, 5 pumpkins, a gallon of apple cider, and a couple corn stalk. I have been in major "Martha Stewart" mode as of late and decided to decorate a little for the season so as soon as we made it home I headed out to the porch to add a few touches to our loot. So there you have it, a little bit of festivity does flow through my veins despite the lack of "Halloween love" I grew up with. (Love ya mom!)

We took a walk on Sunday afternoon between sessions despite my constant nose blowing and black lung cough. It was beautiful outside and was nice to be in the sun. Cade was excited to be outside too but all he wanted to do was swing on a railing and play with bugs, the simple things of life!
All in all, we had a wonderful weekend being together as a family, listening to conference and setting out on a few small adventures.

Pondering

Well, my annual head cold and sinus infection has come and set up camp so thus the spiring board for our Pond this week. The question is, "How do you deal with being sick?" Pull out the tissues, give a little cough and have fun realizing that you really arent sick. Excited to hear your answers on Friday!

Peanut...peanut butter and... Jelly!

I have such a good little helper on my hands. He is becoming more and more independent every day and now insists on "cooking" his own lunch, as he would say.

He just couldn't wait to get the sandwich all "smooshed" together so he decided to just lick the peanut butter off of the bread. He was happy and I was laughing. What a sweet little helper.
