Fast balls and Skittles

Cade is working on perfecting his fast ball! He is getting rather good. However, due to this skill I am becoming somewhat skilled in saying "We ONLY throw balls!" The little sweetheart...what a difficult lot in life to be a 1 1/2 year old. ::sigh::

We spend usually about 1-2 nights a week at my Nephews baseball game (and you wonder why Cade likes to throw balls) and our little munchkin loves it for many reasons...one of them being the treats that Aunt Melissa gets for him. The recent choice of treats...Skittles...oh how the white onesie loved that! Sticky hands, mouth, hair, nose, ears, and arms...but what else do you expect!

Just thought that these were so cute because there is so much pure happiness in his face. I love this little guy and how much enjoyment he finds in life and then reminds me is around.

A Fresh Perspective

So, I have decided to do something a little bit different and hopefully kind of fun. I love to read every ones blogs and find out what they are up to, what is going on in their life and what makes them tick. As I have thought about my life I have realized that I do not spend much time thinking about me...about who I am becoming, what has gotten me to where I am and what I am going to make of myself. I have found that many of my thoughts surround grocery lists, play dates, dinner plans, dishes, laundry and so on. However, once I take a moment to look inside I realize how wonderful my life is and how thankful I am for what is happening around me. Now, once I have taken this journey I find so much fulfillment in life and as if I have discovered a whole new me but feel kind of funny sharing things about myself on my blog which results in ramblings about Cade and his adventures. Which don't get me wrong, I love and so does my mom, but probably isn't the only thing those visiting my blog want to hear about. So drum roll please....this is what I have come up with. I am going to post a "question of the week" more of a pondering really, on Mondays and whoever wants to participate can then post their answer on their own blogs on Friday, giving you a chance to not only ponder the question all week but to then have an excuse to share your journey. I hope this doesn't sound totally silly but I thought it would be fun! So, go ahead take a moment to ponder your life and what makes it wonderful and then don't be afraid to share your gems of wisdom. Have fun, take pictures, share storys, and smile at how beautiful life is.
So, in honor of upcoming mothers day the first question is...

"What is the most important life lesson your mother has taught you and how are you going to pass it on to your little ones?"

Miss Amelia

This is my sweet little niece Amelia. She is such an angel baby. She is the happiest baby I have ever met and brings so much joy and happiness to the world around her. Cade loves her so much and cannot get enough of Yaya (he cannot say her name and some how came up with that) We are so thankful for our little baby girl and I couldnt help but share a little bit of Amelia love.

Uh Ohhh!

This is what happens when mommy gets a new camera and get wrapped up in reading the instruction manual...uh oh! I used to think it was so funny that simple things came with instruction manuals with instructions on how to turn it on. I would laugh and think to myself, "duh, you flip the on switch. Nobody really reads these!" Well, I stand corrected. I have never been more thankful for a "how to turn on" manual.

Well, the camera has been purchased, delivered, and used. Get ready for many more pictures. So sorry that this blog is full of pictures just of Cade. I am tying to learn how to take pictures and he happens to be the best victim, although he now ignores me when I pull it out....and it has only been a day.

Trucks and Swimming...Little Boy Style

Oh to be a little boy! This past weekend has been full of fun boy activities. On Saturday we took Cade and is cousins Harrison and Benson to what was called Touch a Truck event. They had at least 50 different types of trucks, cars, a helicopter, fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, army vehicles, tractors and more. It was so much fun! The boys got to crawl inside the trucks and pretend to dive them, beep the horns and see what they looked like. The people were so nice and all took time to explain to the kids how things worked and how they helped people. The kids also had the chance to put on fire gear, spray a fire hose, turn on sirens, and most importantly sample all the goodies from the delivery trucks!

Cade was a little on the overwhelmed side with all the trucks and people but wasn't shy when it came to ice cream or chocolate milk. He also was able to quickly find a big pile of rocks and dirt to play in...not that those things are a novelty in Vegas!

This weekend the little boys also broke out their swimming suits and jumped in the pool. It was so much fun to watch them run around and splash. Cade loves his cousins and wants to do everything that they do. It is sometimes hard for his little almost 2-year-old mind to comprehend that he isn't 4.

He loved to lay on his tummy and put his hands in the water. He wasn't too excited about getting all the way into the water until I had dried him off and got his jammies on...that little boy!! He also wasn't too interested in goggles until the twins put them on but then quickly decided that they were much cooler to look at on the boys than have them on his own face.

It was a good weekend and very entertaining for old and young boys alike. What a joy it is to watch the things that little boys come up with when surrounded by things they love!

My New Fascination

I often ask myself "why?" I honestly do not know how or why I come up with all of these ideas or new things that peek my interest but they seem to come from somewhere and often times while I am in the shower. Probably because that is the only quiet time in my 24 hour day. Well, no matter where they come from a new one has surfaced and I have become wrapped up in the idea. I want to become a photographer... I actually shouldn't give myself that title because I really just want to learn how so I can take good pictures of my family and have some type of outlet that is for me. Some time in the future, if I really learn what I am doing, I would like to take some pics for friends and family, maybe make a little money on the side. However, for now, this fascination will be strictly used for my own benefit. I am looking at the camera above and have done some research and this one sounds like it should be good. I am really excited and hope to be able to learn something new. If anyone has any tips, tricks, or thoughts I am interested.
